The Raven

A painted 3D film of Edgar Allan Poe’s poem. Ten minutes. Five days.

Chapter I, Midnight: Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Chapter II, Darkness: Darkness there and nothing more.
Chapter III, The Raven: In there stepped a stately Raven of the saintly days of yore;
Chapter IV, Hopes Flown: Followed fast and followed faster till his songs one burden bore
Chapter V, Nepenthe: Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted
Chapter VI, Nevermore: And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon’s that is dreaming,

IMidnight

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,

The raven on a rock against the full moon

Highlights

Silent highlights, 1:19. The poem is on screen. The full film is read by Christopher Lee; his recording is not played on this site.

How it was made

Every stanza is its own 3D scene, timed to the reading word by word. Poe, the raven and the room were modelled in Blender and staged in three.js, and a brush-stroke filter repaints every frame.

I made it with AI agents in Claude Code, over five days and eight rounds of fixes.

The full film is read by Christopher Lee. That recording is not mine to publish, so everything on this site is silent, with the poem on screen.
